Military service has always been considered one of the cornerstones of the Cossacks. However, at the first stages of the revival of the original social class, the roll was made, unfortunately, in the wrong direction: the Cossack elite cut themselves all new "circles", divided power. The bulk of the people, however, abandoned specific tasks and were mainly interested in participating in a kind of permanent "vanity fair". In general, there were few practical results, but there were more than enough big words and external attributes.
Over the past two or three years, the situation has begun to change for the better. The relevant presidential decrees and the creation of Cossack structures with state status played a role.
